When it hurts to look back, and you're scared to look ahead, you can look beside you and your best friend will be there.

The Protector of Santiago

Today I went with a new found friend from church, his name is Cesar, out to lunch and then up to the statue Mary that overlooks the city. She is known as the protector of the city. We decided to go up there because it had just rained and you would actually be able to see the city. Normally, it's covered in smog so you wouldn't be able to see anything. It was pretty cool.
Here are the pics...
People light candles for the miracles Mary has brought to pass in their lives and leave them here until they burn out.

A pretty little Japanese Garden we randomly found on the way down from the hilltop.
