When it hurts to look back, and you're scared to look ahead, you can look beside you and your best friend will be there.

Day 8 - Rainforest

You've come to the 8th and final day of your trip, you drive through lots of more desert and come to some mountains topped with clouds. First, you stop at a campground to see some foxes, and some owls sleeping up in the trees. You take a road of switchbacks to the top of the mountain and as you get into the clouds it abruptly turns into a rainforest. Right there in the middle of the desert! The clouds and mist from the ocean get trapped on top of these mountains and make a rainforest. It's really, really cool. You take a lot of pictures and a take a little 30 minute walk through all the foliage on a path. The final stop of the trip is to try the best cheese empanadas on the planet earth. They are so delicious! Melty hot cheese, wrapped up in hot steaming bread. Mmmmm...delicious! You all get at least two of them, then a few hours later arrive back in Santiago and back to real life.
This is a fence made by cactuses - they were quite common in the desert and kind of comical to me for some reason.

Thankyou for joining me on an 8-day tour of Northern Chile, I hope you have enjoyed your trip!
