When it hurts to look back, and you're scared to look ahead, you can look beside you and your best friend will be there.

First Day

Today was my first day at my hogar and it was the longest day of my life. Two lessons learned though.
#1 Change is hard at first, but you've got to stick to it to get anything out of it.
#2 The healthcare system in the US may be expensive but it's worth it and I would never have it any other way!

I spent 7 hours at the hospital here today and it was not fun. The hospital is dreary, cold, ghetto and I'm pretty much guaranteed to get sick now. We had to take two babies to the hospital to be looked at and it was pretty much ridiculous. The 'Tia' I was with was doing all the paper work and this is how the day went. She would get one paper here - we would wait forever - then they would send us to another floor - she'd get another paper - wait some more - then up to a different floor - wait some more - and on and on and on for seven hours. And the elevators didn't really work, they were pretty much the most ghetto thing I've ever seen, so we had to carry the stroller and babies up and down all these stairs. Anyway, pretty much miserable, but luckily I get tomorrow off because we have some VE meetings. I need the break for sure.

That is not how my schedule will be all the time thankfully. Here on out - I should show up to work around 8:30am and leave at about 3:00pm Monday through Friday. What I'm supposed to be doing at work is driving three babies to daycare in the morning, then just entertaining the rest until 3pm, which will still be quite a task but will hopefully be better than 7 hours in a hospital.
