Today we went to the US embassy here in Chile and got to talk to Ambassador Craig A. Kelly along with a group of students from Harvard that are here in Chile doing internships. He talked about the US relationship with Chile in its current status and it was really interesting then we were free to ask questions. Then we went to the Harvard offices where we had a lecture on the human rights here in Chile and then discussed it from there (That part was all in Spanish so I didn't catch all of it). Afterward they fed us lunch, and then we watched a movie with English subtitles that was about the whole fiasco of civil unrest in the early 70's in Chile and was very enlightening and very sad. I cried in one part. Then shortly after that just the voluntarios de la esperanza group went up to a room and we all sat around a circle table and discussed the movie with the Head Director of the Harvard offices. I don't pay much attention to politics so it was a whole new day for me and very thought provoking.
P.S. The embassy and the harvard offices had indoor heating! Yay!
P.S.S. It rained all day and is supposed to keep raining for the next few days which is kinda fun
