Touring Minneapolis...Our Current Hometown

We decided to take advantage of having a couple days off in a row together.  The first day we went to the Como Zoo and observatory (Free), rode the carousel (also happened to be free the day we were there), had burger, fries, and a shake, and went to the dollar theater to see Transformers.  One of our favorite animals at the zoo were a pair of brown bears that were swimming and playing.  They were so cute!  Our other favorites were the spider monkeys and a little baby orangutan.  The baby orangutan was being a little show-off by climbing to the highest tower and swinging from the beams.

The second day we had off we went downtown.  We had lunch at the 508 Bar and Restaurant (we had a buy-one-get-one-free), strolled the riverwalk while taking pictures of all the bridges, toured the Mill City Museum (also had a buy-one-get-one-free for this), then finished the night off with 35 cent wings at the 8th Street Grill.   The Mill City Museum was very interesting.  We learned a lot about the history of the city and the flour industry.  They also had a fun exhibit where we could practice shifting the flow of a river by building dams, etc.... We had a good time.
