We golfed 18 holes with our friend Jared at the Heron Lakes Golf Course that evening. It was a beautiful course with a lot of water and Blue Herons flying from pond to pond. They were so graceful and fun to watch. I guess that is where the course got its name.

That night Brett's parents wanted to have dinner at "Rheinlander", a German restaurant that we were originally skeptical of, but turned out to be a great time. The food and service were excellent. Our waiter and a gentlemen with an accordian treated us to all the classic songs from "The Sound of Music" as well as many others we knew. Everyone in the restaurant that knew the songs sang along and we had a great time, some guests even danced as well! After dinner we went to see the Portland, Temple which had very unique and pretty architecture, it was very different from the Utah temples.

Wednesday morning we got up early and went to golf another 9 holes, this time at Broadmoor Golf Course. This course had old, large trees lining all the fairways and was just so green and beautiful as well.

We then went to tour the Pendleton Factory which was really neat! They make all sorts of clothing out of wool and we got see how they make the yarn, dye it, spin it, weave blankets, etc... In their retail store they had so many cute clothes I wanted - too bad I'm still a poor college student! We went downtown for lunch and ate at The House of Louie, a chinese restaurant and had way too much food.
On our way to the airport, we got caught in major traffic and cut it way too close to making it on our flight. Brett always makes us leave with plenty of leeway time when getting to airports in case things like this happen, and usually we arrive with plenty of time to spare... but we had no idea traffic was going to be at a dead stop on the freeway at 4:00 in the afternoon. We luckily still made it though!
