When it hurts to look back, and you're scared to look ahead, you can look beside you and your best friend will be there.

1st Anniversary

May 31 was our first Anniversary and I can hardly believe it, time has gone so fast! Although, we have done so much and been so many places together that I also can't believe we accomplished all that we have in one year. Here's a brief recap of the many places we have been in just one year (not counting local trips in Utah)...

Vancouver Island

Louisiana

Atlanta

Alaska

Idaho

Uruguay

Argentina

Las Vegas

Los Angeles

Seattle

San Francisco

Hawaii

Unfortunately, I was still recuperating from pneumonia so we just had to stay home from a planned trip to Nauvoo with the family, as well as for the weekend of our first anniversary. Brett was really sweet though and got me a salmon colored rose and some new dangly earrings that I have been wanting (and they are real silver so they won't hurt my ears!).

On Saturday, we went to the park and had a small picnic on a blanket and just enjoyed the fresh air and sunshine while listening to the breeze blow through the trees above. There is no sound more calming for me than leaves rustling in the breeze, I just love it! It was really nice for me to finally get out of the house I had been couped up in all week while sick, and enjoy the fresh air. On Sunday, Brett made homemade chili and we drank soda out of our wine glasses we got for our wedding and had an enjoyable evening at home watching a movie together.

Our goal for the upcoming year and years beyond is to have an official family home evening every week. We feel like we already do because it is date night about every night for us, and we often read the ensign and new era together. But, we would like to have one official family home evening every week where we sing a hymn, have a lesson, do an activity, and have a treat. :)
